The family tree
Last year I met with an American boy whose name is Peter. We became friends and now we`re in touch with each other through the social nets. He writes me every day and recently we`ve decided to discuss our backgrounds. I can`t express how interesting it was to listen about Peter`s ancestors and I`m just looking for sharing this with everyone. I hope you will enjoy it too.
Well, Peter`s family begins with Safford “Lost Soul” Rutherford. He was a Portuguese pirate and he was a captain of a large ship “The flying Dutchman”. One day Lost Soul came to Spain with his pirate mates to rob the nobility and get a lot of gold from the king Fillip IV. However, when Lost Soul saw a Spanish princess he offered a deal to the king. He said that if Fillip gave in marriage his daughter, Lost Soul would stop the robbery and call a truce. It was a Mexican standoff for Fillip and he didn`t see any way except giving his princess to hands of a disgusting pirate. The name of that princess was Sicilia.
Sicilia gave a birth to a baby son. Safford was really proud of this because he wanted an heir to pass him all pirate`s heritage and teach him everything that he knew. They named him Rider (later he got the name “The Wild”). Actually, he was a pirate who served to the king, so he was wealthy and independent. Rider met a girl who named Jeanne, she was a farmer`s daughter but Rider didn`t care about her background.
The Rutherfords continued putting their roots and Jeanne had a baby Fernand. His father Rider wanted to his son started a new life, without robberies and pirates, so he raised up Fernand in strictness and honesty. Fernand met a girl when he was only 17 years old and they married young. That girl named Patricia, she came from the family of aristocrats and her parents were against of this marriage in the beginning. But later they changed their mind and blessed Fernand and Patricia.
The first girl born in Rutherford`s family was Sara Rutherford. She take after both mother and father in appearance, but she was absolutely like her mother in character. She inherited many talents from her. For example, Sara could play the piano and had a beautiful voice, also she was just a class-act dancer. One of balls she met Jack who was a Native American who came to Spain for own deals. They fell in love at the first sight and Jack made propose to Sara next months. They married and immigrated to the USA, the country of freedom.
There were born to sons William and Robert. They were alike although they had absolutely different points. So, William became a Confederate soldier but flesh and blood of Robert`s ancestors awoke and he became a pirate of Caribbean sea. I must say that Robert was a noble pirate; he was always honest and never hurt women and children. William was a good man as well, but he decided to serve the country in legal way. Despite their contrast ways of live, brothers always gave a hand to each other. By the way, their wives were sisters from the wealthy aristocratic family Armstrongs. William`s spouse Lucy was a show girl and worked in the theatre and Robert`s wife Kathrin was a teacher in private school for the girls.
The last pirate in this family was “Black beard Jim”. He was just a chip off an old block and took after his uncle in character. His favorite hobby was drinking rum on the deck and singing pirate songs with his mates. One day his ship was coming back home and suddenly other pirates attacked it. Those pirates was transferring the slaves from Africa to Europe. Fortunately, Black beard Jim and his friends could defense themselves and even beat other pirates. They took the African slaves and Jim met a brave girl among of them. Her name was Harris, she tried to start a riot and even arranged a getaway. Jim was so admired by her braveness and strength that fell heels over head in her. He promised her a happy life and future. As for the Robert`s son Hugo, he became a Puritan and married a British girl Elsa.
Jim`s wife gave a birth to baby boy Charli. He was a sailor and visited a lot of countries. But later he met a woman of a divine beauty and settled down in California. His cousin Sam married a pretty girl Luisa, they loved each other and traveled together a lot. They didn`t want to have children and spent all theirs money on themselves. However Charli`s wife Merlin desired a baby, so she had a girl Mary.
Mary`s parents were permissive, they were giving her everything he wanted. But actually, she isn`t selfish, otherwise, she`s pretty kind woman with a warm heart. Her husband`s name is Boon and he`s a taxi driver in a small company. Mary works as a travel agent. They have a son Max who`s a whiz-kid. He`s an ideal boy and everybody considers him the best in the class. Actually, he doesn`t like this status, so he tries to be a bad boy. But my friend doesn`t know how it`s working because Max just unable to do something bad.
That`s it about an American family of my friend. I think that it`s extremely interesting and exciting. He promised me to pass his paint to next generation and to expand this family tree more and more.
