If I’d Met Augustus Waters
Hello everyone, today I want to share with you my thoughts about the main character and tell you what I would ask him if I’d met him in real life.
Needless to say, that it would be great to meet Augustus because he’s a great character and I like him. He’s very smart, he knows how to behave himself with girls, and he has a sophisticated sense of humor. He has interesting points of view on different things. Also, Augustus is very poetic. One of his favorite phrases, “It’s a metaphor, see: you put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don’t give it the power to do its killing”.So, I would like to talk more about metaphorical things with him. I love when Hazel and Augustus discuss some very deep topics, about God, love, and even death.
One more thing why I like Augustus is that he doesn’t blame fate for doing such horrible things with him. He just enjoys the moment, he fights and tries to be happy. He`s never afraid to express himself, he`s determined to leave a mark in his life. He wants to be remembered.
Augustus is just a really interesting person. I guess he`s just a man with whom you may speak about everything. But most of all I`d like to know some things about his past. What did make him such a strong person? What people, events, or books did define his character? If he had an opportunity to change one thing in the past, what would he have changed? (or there`s no such thing at all?)
There are some words from new chapters:
bashful [ˈbæʃfəl] — often feeling uncomfortable with other people and easily embarrassed
conk out [kɒŋk’aut] — (inf) if vehicles and other machines conk out, they stop working or fail suddenly
giddy [‘ɡɪdi] — feeling silly, happy, and excited and showing this in your behavior
Thanks for your attention:)
